Exam tip: For emerging technologies, the Edexcel spec focuses on AI and IoT most heavily. Always be ready to explain what a technology is, give examples, and discuss both benefits AND ethical/social concerns. "Evaluate the impact of AI on employment" is a typical 6-mark question — give both sides and a conclusion.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Confusing AR and VR — AR overlays onto the real world; VR replaces it entirely
Saying AI "thinks" — AI processes data and finds patterns; it doesn't truly "understand" or have consciousness
Thinking quantum computers replace all regular computers — they're suited for specific problems, not general computing
